Costa Rica-Tortuguero

Goodbye Grecia!  We take a bus to head to our next location-Tortoguero.  On the drive, we see a banana zipline.  (a bunch of bananas strung on a wire and pulled across.)
This is where the banana zipline leads to.  It's a banana factory.  Bananas are washed, cut, and packaged to be shipped off.
A hercules beetle that we saw at a roadside coconut stand.
A tiger back heron.
Tortuguero is an island so we decided to take a tour in the canals near by.
Palm trees
A lone flower on a tree.
This bird kept walking around on the marsh grass near us.  I'm not sure what it's called.....but it's pretty :)
A random nest with eggs......
A bird.  I think it's called a heron but I'm not sure....
The bird flies off!
Another one of these birds........

This time I tried to make the order so that it made more sense.  Well, this is the Tortuguero portion of my trip.  Hope you enjoyed the pics.

Costa Rica-Grecia

That night we eat a dinner of Costa Rican typical food.  Fish, beef, rice, plantains, beans, veggies, and rice.
We finish eating just in time to see the beautiful sunset.
Yummy!
Coffee wood roasted chicken.  Good after a long day of sight seeing.
Cooling coffee after it has been roasted.  Smells really good.
The tiny black speck on the coffee berry is actually a bug.  It likes to live inside coffee berries.  yuck :P
Can you guess what this is?  It's rows of coffee berries!
We took a coffee tour!
Means something like hopping into the cart (see below) aka getting a drink.
The world's largest ox cart!!!!
A pretty butterfly we found in the gardens.
The path to the gardens.  :)
A small stream by our room.
This is the place we stayed at in Grecia.

Hi all!  So sorry for slacking off for the longest time.  Here is the first part of my vacation to Costa Rica.  :)  Whoops got the pics in the wrong order accidentally.  It probably makes more sense if you read from bottom to top.

Micro BLOB

I am referring to the first water melon that has sprung up in my vegetable patch this summer. As you can see from the picture, this weeny is indeed micro in size. Although DonutBoy thinks that this variety that he planted should reach 20 pounds or over, the BLOB is no more than 5 cm in diameter and weighs less than 20 ounce at present. Still a long long way to go. So here's my direct plea to all those frequent visitors to my backyard…..yes……I mean you…..Mr. Rabbit, Mr. Squirrel, Mr. Possum, Mr. Rat, Mr. Crow, Mr. Duck and Mr. Whoever that Trespasses into My Backyard…….Leave my BLOB alone or risk becoming my dinner stew!!!!!
