BLOBBB Results....

Hi Guys! As you can see, my "BEAUTIFUL"" BLOBB for you guys is over there ---------------------------------->

Well, I decided that all three of you won the contest because the question I asked for the BLOBB contest was hard to judge... (and also two of you had the same answer..) So here you are!!!

Ok, I have to admit, I got kinda lazy with this BLOBB. First of all, I didn't really decorate it enough (in my opinion.)

Second, I should have made you all a seperate one....

And lastly, SORRY FOR THE BAD QUALITY OF THE PHOTO, I SHOULD HAVE TOOK MORE TIME IN COLORING IT AND MORE TIME IN TAKING A BETTER PICTURE.

I know you guys were probably expecting a better BLOBB and also an actual winner rather than just all three of you winning....but I guess that's just how things went this time =P. Atleast you didn't have to wait an awful long time!! Right? Oh, well.

Hi everyone! I've noticed that no one has been posting in a while and I just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I have already decided the winner(s) for the personal BloBB contest and have started working on, and is almost done. I have to say, the contest was not the best one, so I have decided to do something a little interesting.. As you have noticed, I put a possible plural after winner, so hopefully you get what's coming. Sorry, but I will not post the finished result of the "beautiful" BLOBB until a couple of days later. BUT, if I work on it more today (sorry the BLOBB is kind of plain.....) than maybe I will be able to post it today. Also, I will not post the winner(s) of the contest until I actually post the prize. OMG Today

Hey Guys! Today I feel REALLY unproductive. As in "today" I mean Saturday the 18th, even though it is technically Sunday. Like... at like 5 or 6 i watched like 3 movies with my family until like 11 something.. so I feel REALLY lazy and not being able to do anything today.. =(
Oh well, hopefully tomorrow (or kinda today..) will be better. =D
As for the winner for the personalized Blob.. I haven't really decided yet........ and if I really cant decide then I just might do something unexpected... =)

FOOD ERASERS

HI! At first I didn't really want to post a picture, but after seeing all of YOUR contributions,I just had to. So, without further ado ( <-- weird) here is a picture of my food erasers (not ALL of them are erasers, and I KNOW THAT. So please don't criticize by saying that all of them are NOT food erasers. ) How do you like the photo? I know that this is not the best picture, or the most food erasers, but it is an accomplishment (sort-of) that I am proud to share.

Cake Chronicles

It's been a month since PastryGirl and I completed our Cake Decoration Basics Class. Here's a summary of what we learnt in the process:

Filling each cake layer with yummy flavors

Mixing our own buttercream and colors

Frosting the cake on a turntable

Piping flowers, patterns and letters using different tips

Building a 3D flower spray

……. and presenting PastryGirl's graduation thesis which utilized a lot of the techniques we learnt in class!

Thank you also to our class instructor, Ms. Stephanie, for her patience and encouragement!

Random Cakes

To celebrate our blog's one year Anniversary, the occasion calls for….. what else….. but CAKES!!!!!

Credits go to my fellow bloggers Dogluver and PastryGirl, as well as PastrySister for decorating this Year of the Dragon Cake. PastryGirl whipped up the buttercream frosting, and I prepared the chestnut paste filling. Voila! SpongyChestnutCake reincarnated :D

This panda cake is actually the graduation project for a cake decoration class that I recently completed with PastryGirl. It is a chocolate cake with raspberry filling inside.

Cake decoration trivia: Do you know that to achieve the jet black color for the panda's body, you need to add black food coloring to chocolate frosting instead of regular white frosting? Mixing black coloring with white frosting will result in a dull greyish color only!

Anniversary

   Hey all!  This is one year mark for our blog so, as I promised, results of our fav. posts/months.  Me: I liked Jessmile's blobs, dogluver's pics and videos, and spongeychestnutcake's bug post back in June .  Dogluver:  Jessmile's blobs.  Jessmile:  Contest era.  Spongeychestnutcake:  Dogluver's pho recipe and dog show post, my cake photo, and of course, jessmile's two blobs, and the month we first started.

   Second of all, I would like to say how this blog came to be.  It started when spongeychestnutcake mentioned blogs to me at the Bay Leaf restaurant.  I called jessmile and stargazer to come up with a name.  We went through many.  Ex. ice cream girls and other names......  Finally(after like 2 hours of debating), we came up with the blogs name and each decided on a username.  A week later, dogluver joined and this blog came to be.  Eventually followers joined and, well the rest is history.  So, there you have it, the story of this blog.  Thanks to everyone for posting!  I hope that stargazer will post soon.
